Can I determine the phase angle of this equation by using the sin function?
I've got the answer for (a). It's k = 0.78 N/m. I'm having problems with (b). I know that the equation of displacement in this case should either be : x(t) = Asin(ωt + φ) or x(t) = Acos(ωt - φ) where A = amplitudeFrom what I understand, both the equation above should give the same result as...- nuclearfireball_42

Help with a pulley problem with 3 masses
Thanks everybody for the reply :) . I've understood how to get the equation for acceleration of the bodies. I've also understood that T1 is equal in magnitude to T3. But the answer that I got doesn't seem to match the one given. Is it true for me to assume that the tension in the string...- nuclearfireball_42

Help with a pulley problem with 3 masses
The figure : What I understand from the figure : T1=m1a1 T2=m2a2 T3-m3g=m3(-a3) - The three masses given all have different mass so each of them has different acceleration - How do one substitute to obtain the answer for a3? - I've tried to substitute to find the value of a3, but it seems...- nuclearfireball_42

High School Why light reflected off of my calculator screen turns bluish?
So, I was in class listening to my lecturer when I notice something intriguing. I was looking at the reflection of a lamp on the screen of my calculator. I paid close attention to the colour of the light reflected of my calculator and realized that when I rotate my calculator by about 90 deg...- nuclearfireball_42
