Undergrad Why Do Gluons Decay into u-anti-u Pairs Instead of Z0 Bosons?
Hey! I'm studying some particle physics. I ran into this example of a gluon decaying into a u - anti-u pair. (According to example 9: http://teachers.web.cern.ch/teachers/archiv/HST2002/feynman/examples.htm) How come this happens via strong force. Why isn't a Z0 boson doing this instead? Thanks!- Onjii

Graduate Ferromagnetism - thought problem
Hi! This might be a dum idea but here goes. Say you have 3 items. One weak magnet and two ferromagnetic materials of different susceptability. The magnet is strong enough to saturate the first material bot not the second. But since the saturated field in the first material is larger than that...- Onjii

How do we determine the ideal size for our wind turbine's generator?
Appreciate the help guys! I think we will settle with approximating the torque like you just described. Thanks!- Onjii

How do we determine the ideal size for our wind turbine's generator?
Thanks for the reply! I'm aware that we are essensially building a bike dynamo. But the project is to build all the components ground up (including coils etc). We already have a simulink model giving us the emf from the rotation speed which tells us how many poles and so forth we will need. We...- Onjii

How do we determine the ideal size for our wind turbine's generator?
Hi! I'm working on a project where we are building a windturbine from the bottom up. Myself and a colleague are designing a double stator axial flux generator for our turbine. Our requirements are that we deliver about 10 W at nominal rotation speed. It's a direct axis driven generator...- Onjii
