Is Pain Merely a Form of Emotion?
<-- Marine :) I think you bringing that up reminded me of some of the training back in the early days and how adrenaline can effect your perception of pain.- P4PPY

Is Pain Merely a Form of Emotion?
Nicely said Wave. What I'm curious about is the desire to enjoy the feeling of pain, much like someone might enjoy a good cry every once in awhile. If it's nothing more than an emotion... it would seem to be possible. Or would society be against that? =)- P4PPY

Is Pain Merely a Form of Emotion?
Visually identifying someone who is in pain should be fairly easy I suppose. But on the other hand... if someone doesn't want you to know they are sad... can't they just hold back the tears and/or fake happiness to hide their sadness? Why can we not do the same thing with pain? Is it just...- P4PPY

Is Pain Merely a Form of Emotion?
Is pain just an emotion? I understand that pain is brought about by such things like nerve endings sending signals to the brain in an effort to notify us of danger, much like the hand on the oven burner. Hey… it’s hot, might want to move your hand away from the fire. But the brain confuses...- P4PPY

Everything that can happen, will happen?
Can I make a decision while asleep that will produce an alternate universe, and if so is it a single universe... or would I continue to create more universes while making decisions in my sleep? Obviously the decision to sleep is a choice I make, thus creating a new universe built from that...- P4PPY

Violence In The USA: What Level of Acceptance?
I call people like you, "Scrappers!". Those are the best! And after I spend 20 minutes chasing your ass around a car in the parking lot... we go inside and have beers together!- P4PPY

Violence In The USA: What Level of Acceptance?
The school system translates "violence" to "aggression". If a child is abnormally aggressive... they are actually saying, he is violent! Not to mention they are telling the parent in a subtle way... get your child some help before he kills somebody! They try to teach children about handling...- P4PPY

Violence In The USA: What Level of Acceptance?
I LOVE it! Wait... I think we should teach them about real sex in school first, THEN violence... We really don't teach our children about sex... anymore than we teach them about violence. Sex ed (sex) vs Wrestling/football (violence). But with football you get teamwork... *wink* I...- P4PPY

Where I live they charge by the kb :( using my phone for anything other then text messaging runs up a huge bill :( They've got a nice little monopoly going on here. Internet should be free. Host Free WiFi Legal? Cafe Owners Must Know
A vast majority of virus' are created to target bigger companies. Eventually it will work like a scare tactic. For example... I refuse to use Internet Explorer. Virus creators have made it well known they will go to unlimited lengths to wreak havoc on that software... because it's distributed...- P4PPY

Violence In The USA: What Level of Acceptance?
edward- I agree with just about everything you have said in this thread. My .02 cents: The officer was in the wrong. He himself should NEVER have drawn his weapon. Lethal force is only used as a last resort, and he should never have pointed his weapon at a civilian unless he intended to kill...- P4PPY

How can the mind's eye visualize in complete darkness?
I've read that your subconscious mind imprints just about everything from the paper clip in the corner of the room to the temperature in the room. If you walk into a room you have never been in before with your eyes closed... you'd stumble over everything. If you walk into a room you are...- P4PPY

Is Passive Consciousness the Key to Understanding Human Decision Making?
The brain can be fooled easily. In fact, 100 years ago and even before that, people made a living traveling from town to town deceiving the mind. Optical illusions, stories that spark the imagination and all the way up to today, where TV fools the mind every day. If these are not questioned…...- P4PPY

Why Do People Engage in Tailgating Behavior on the Road?
I once did a small psych test on the cause of tailgating. The results were interesting. It seemed that drivers would gauge their speeds based on the car in front of them subconsciously. Instead of looking at their speedometer, they would just follow the car in front of them and their vision...- P4PPY
