Is Thomas Campbell's My Big TOE Philosophy Disguised as Physics?
http://www.my-big-toe.com/ This does not look like physics, it looks like philosophy. Is this person a crackpot?- pat777

AP Physics C or B - High School Sophmore Guide
I'm a high school sophmore. I have an A in AP Calculus AB and a B in AP Chemistry. Next year, I want to do an Independent Study on AP Physics C since my school does not offer AP Physics C. I will also take AP Calculus BC(my school offers this)next year. I have had no previous high school level...- pat777

Graduate Unifying Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity: A Debate on Strings vs LQG
http://arxiv.org/PS_cache/hep-th/pdf/9208/9208027.pdf Ed Witten wrote a paper about getting a background independent string theory. Yes, I know it's an old paper.- pat777

Graduate Unifying Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity: A Debate on Strings vs LQG
I think a good argument for string theory is that it predicts(or should I say postdict)that we can only observe 3 spatial dimensions. Strings and anti-strings are likely to collide in 3 spatial dimensions or less. Thus, it expands the 3 dimensions. Strings and anti-strings are very unlikely to...- pat777

Graduate Unifying Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity: A Debate on Strings vs LQG
Although I think LQG underlies string theory, I believe M-theory underlies LQG and ST if ST and LQG are both true. Loops are probably made from zero branes.- pat777

Truth teller vs liar : go to Hell
Ask: What would you say if I asked you, "Does this door go to heaven?"? The Door is the way to heaven. The liar would say that he would say yes. The truthful person would say that he would say yes too. The Door is not the way to heaven. The liar would say that he would say no. The...- pat777

Modifying My 6800NU: Risky But Worth It!
I modded my 6800NU from 12 pixel pipels/5 vertex shaders to 16 pixel pipelines/6 vertex shaders. It's a bit risky and can pernamantly damage hardware but I took that risk and the mod was successful. I used Rivatuner 2.0 RC 15.2. I may have gotten rid of my warranty but at least my video card is...- pat777

Graduate Motl and Douglas discuss naturalness
Of course, the absence of string theory also predicts that you do not see the effects of string theory because they don't exist. That doesn't really prove string theory is correct to me.- pat777

Graduate Unifying Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity: A Debate on Strings vs LQG
Marcus, Is Thiemann's unification of LQG and ST a TOE? I'm just a layperson who's interested in TOE.- pat777

If LQG is correct, then I hope it's possible to turn it into a TOE. I like the paper meteor linked to.- pat777

Graduate Unifying Quantum Mechanics and General Relativity: A Debate on Strings vs LQG
What claims did Ravelly make? Can you link to one of his papers? I agree with you on the part with Wikipedia not being reliable. Wikipedia was created for general information, not specific/complex information. It's unreliable in a situation like this.- pat777
