Graduate Primordial Black Holes: Could Spacetime Form BHs?
Could the primordial black holes that seeded the first galaxies have been formed from spacetime that never expanded below the critical threshold for black hole formation? If quantum jitters caused the variation in densities seen in the cosmic background radiation, could islands of higher density...- PaulMurphy

Graduate Mass distribution inside the event horizon
In the popular physics books that I enjoy reading, black holes are described as containing a singularity of zero volume that contains 100% of the mass. I can't envision this, since 100% of the spacetime inside the event horizon would then be empty space except for virtual particles. Is this...- PaulMurphy

Graduate Top 10 Questions on Leonard Susskind's "The Black Hole War
Thanks for all the replies. I learned a few things already. Here is some clarification: 3. Who said gravity was a repulsive force? I read about inflation theory in Brian Greene's new book, The Hidden Reality. There is a whole section about repulsive gravity, the inflaton field and negative...- PaulMurphy

Graduate Relativity and Probability Waves
I don't know enough physics to know where my reasoning or assumptions are incorrect in this post. Please point me in the right direction so I can fill the holes in my knowledge that led to this conjecture: In Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, there is no absolute motion, no absolute rest and...- PaulMurphy

Graduate Top 10 Questions on Leonard Susskind's "The Black Hole War
1. In Leonard Susskind’s “The Black Hole War,” he says that if radiation has a wavelength larger than the event horizon of a black hole, it will bounce off instead of falling in. I've never read this anywhere else. Can anyone here discuss this topic further? 2. Based on how dense the energy...- PaulMurphy
