Medical Phyiscs master's program at OSU/OHSU vs. SDSU

Hello forum, I am a soon-to-be-graduated Radiation Health Physics student who plans to study medical physics in the future. I have applied for a few schools and I have been admitted to San Diego State's medical physics masters so far. And I am still waiting to hear from Oregon State/Oregon...

Admissions Disadvantages of being in the second wave for admissions?

Thanks for the reply. It seems that our school's graduate admission review is consist of two separate sessions, or 'waves'. So students that finished the applications relatively early get to have their application evaluated earlier at the first session, and relatively late students will be...

Admissions Disadvantages of being in the second wave for admissions?

Hello, I've applied for our university's medical physics program before its first deadline, Feb 1st. Since I've finished the application, I have been relaxing and waiting for the results. Today I found that I was supposed to fill out a secondary "supplemental" application, which asked exactly...

I wish to pursue PhD in Medical Physics. But Masters first?

You are right. It seems that medical physics schools in the U.S. expect most students to earn a M.S. and then PhD in medical physics. I think I will be applying to about 6~7 schools, I'm more interested in 3 of them but since I'm not the most competent applicant for medical physics, I thought...

I wish to pursue PhD in Medical Physics. But Masters first?

Thank you, I did contact the schools I'm interested in and received some detailed information about their policies. It seems that most schools encourage students to have finished the M.S. first. I think I will be going for a master's degree first. Thank you!

I wish to pursue PhD in Medical Physics. But Masters first?

I have contacted with the schools I'm interested in, and it seems that having an M.S. prior to pursuing PhD is common in this field. I'm probably not the most competent applicant, so I think I should go for the M.S. first. Thanks for the comment!

Schools A question regarding grad school resume & essay

Hello, I've recently applied for 2 Medical Physics graduate schools (MS). Shortly thereafter I realized a few minor problems with my application. I've noticed 2 one-letter typos in my essay, both were caused by changing the noun from singular to plural and not removing the -s after the verbs...

I wish to pursue PhD in Medical Physics. But Masters first?

Hello, I will be getting a bachelor's degree in Radiation Health Physics in near future, and my ultimate goal is to study PhD in medical physics. However, I think it would be unlikely that I will get admitted right after undergraduate graduation, due to my mediocre GPA and limited experiences...

Schools About Medical Physics grad schools, some advice please

Thank you for the reply. I have a couple more questions regarding this. Since I am equally interested in the clinical practices of the MP, I'm rather interested in the DMP programs as well. Do you think DMP is a valid way to go if I decide to concentrate on the clinical experiences of the MP...

Schools About Medical Physics grad schools, some advice please

Those are the schools I am merely interested in. However since those are all phd programs, I think I have not very high chance of being accepted this year (I haven't taken MP related undergrad courses yet, and I don't have internship experiences either). Do you think it might be more beneficial...

Schools About Medical Physics grad schools, some advice please

Hello forum, I'm a current undergrad student in radiation health physics planning to apply for medical physics grad schools in the US. There are a few things that make me worry: my GPA (3.24 cumulative) isn't superb because my first two year of undergrad was troublesome (my recent performances...
