Yes I admit that, that's why I wrote "extremely controversial". Indeed if the simulation is impossible, that would nicely solve my questions (as obsolete). If you can simulate consciousness with a computer, you'll get many weird possibilities.

My current (pun intended) understanding is that there is really no such thing as the "present". I see it only as an illusion created by the cumulative experiences, stored in our memory cells, in each point of time. I would be very grateful to be proved wrong, since the concept of eternality...
