Undergrad Torque: Understanding Gear Ratios & Cruise Control
Ok so i can be at 3000 RPM's with the throttle fully opened and the engine's power would be ~100 HP but if I am at 3000 RPM's and the throttle only halfway open then the engine's power would be ~50 HP? -

Undergrad Torque: Understanding Gear Ratios & Cruise Control
I am working on a vehicle simulation and I have calculated the torque to the wheel using engine RPM and the corresponding amount of HP. Then I multiplied that torque by the gear ratios but I do not understand how at a higher gear the ratio is smaller but it is suppose to go faster than the... -

How can torque be converted into speed in a vehicle simulation?
Maybe you can better explain something to me, How do we convert from drive wheel torque to forward velocity of the vehicle. I am missing something and it isn't making a whole lot of sense.- Peetch

How can torque be converted into speed in a vehicle simulation?
the vehicle mass is 2359 kg so 23118.2 Newtons the vehicle is a normal 4 wheel vehicle with about 50% of the mass is on the drive wheels. Also how did you determine this?- Peetch

How can torque be converted into speed in a vehicle simulation?
I have been reading on these forums for a bit learning about vehicles and their physics. I still have a few questions and do want to clarify some things as well. I am trying to simulate a vehicle give some basic info you can find online about any car or vehicle. I know Peak HP and the...- Peetch
