Thermochemistry 2: Zn w/ HCl & Sulfuric Acid -150 kJ
hi firstly its not a homework question secondly i tried but I am not sure i said that the answer will be (one mole )as Zn +H2SO4---->ZnSO4 + H2 but i don't know is it write or wrong ? thank u- ph_lover3294

hi zinc reacts with HCl according to the eq Zn + 2HCl ------> ZnCl2 + H2 , delta H= -150 kj * IF SULPHURIC ACID IS USED INSTEAD HCl ..jow many moles of sulphuric acid react with excess amount of zinc so the change in heat content is -150 kj- ph_lover3294

thank u for your answer but i want to know the answer of the above question please i answered it ... liberated heat=100 x 4.18 x (21.3-18.2)=1295.8 j =1.2958 kj but the answer of the book was ..1295.8 kj so i don't know the right answer thanks- ph_lover3294
