Graduate Self relative light speed is infinite
well to put it simply, you couldn't reach the speed of light because of fuel. to keep increasing your acceleration would require more and more fuel, which would in turn make your craft heavier. because your craft is now heavier, it needs MORE fuel to compensate for that and travel faster. as...- ph_low

High School What Is Fire and Why Is It Colored and Shaped That Way?
about the colour, i think its related to the temperature of whatever is being set on fire, a higher temperature flame will be giving out more energy, therefore changing the colour of the flame.- ph_low

for shallow waves (where \lambda \leq 1/2 depth) in a tub, can anyone tell me why... speed\ of\ wave = \sqrt{gravity * depth} i mean, is there a way to get this formula by deriving from others? -

What is your greatest achievement in physics?
the other week i helped my teacher in a lesson with 12 year olds. the most useful thing i did was tell them they had the metre stick the wrong way round when measuring themselves.hehe (p.s I am 17)- ph_low

Undergrad Are Black Holes Truly Infinite in Mass and Energy?
I've just been doing some reading on Black Holes, and i found that theoretically there is an infinite mass at the singularity inside a black hole. Surely something with an infinite mass would require an infinite energy, but I've always thought that in the universe there was only a finite amount...- ph_low
