Proverb: "No Paddle in Sight" Meaning
Hi all, I read in an article and met this: "..without a paddle in sight" or " .. no paddle in sight".. Is this a proverb and what is the meaning? Thanks- pixel01

Combustion connecting rod failure (in cars)
Thank you xxChrisxx. But we can not say the small bearing or the big one is more vulnerable if the oil is insufficient. Or by other way, after many years in use, which one 'goes' first? (sorry for my bad English) Thanks Mike, It seems clearer now.- pixel01

Combustion connecting rod failure (in cars)
Hi all, I have this question from my friends and hope get the answer. Using your car with the oil is not sufficient, the connecting rod is the first to fail. Normally it burns both bearings or the smaller one (connecting to piston) burns first? I think there's a dilemma here: the bigger one...- pixel01

How long to charge 4 parallel capacitors with 5V or 9V?
It depends on the resistance, both of the wires and the battery/adapter. If you use a Pb battery, I think it takes just fractions of a second- pixel01

High School Understand 3D Films: Learn About the Principle of Polarization
Thanks for the answer. The glasses are not really colored, just a little redder (left) and greener (right), but through it, the color of the film does not change (or I just can't see). (Next time I will check by turning the glasses by 90 degrees!) -

? I guess you all have experienced electric shocks (sometimes, not gentle) while walking in a supermarket and unattentively touch the trolley or somethings. High School Where does the charge on tankers come from?
I have not googled, but the 2 cases are quite different. Airplanes fly very fast, the friction caused by moving air is big. But the truck moves much slower and the tires always have friction with the surface of the road. My speculation is about the truck.- pixel01

Sure that the tires do not dominate the charge in airplanes. They taxi very slowly and just some km on runway.- pixel01

But we don't know what is the dominant. Possibly that the tires can make up 99% of the charge, and we can neglect the air. Say, the airplane, it fly very fast and I do not know if if has problem with charge caused by the moving air.- pixel01
