Hi
I'm trying to get my head round why Maxwell's equations fail for the electron going round the atom.
The common sentence I see is along the lines of:
"Accelerating charges emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR), and a point electron orbiting a point nucleus would continually accelerate...
Thanks mfb - apologies for the delay - back at work now so less time for physics!
A few points:
1.
The model is no-friction. You're right, this is a limitation but, with a small enough time increment, will it be material?
2. Will look into the θ issue you raise
3. Time step of...
OK! As long as it's purely for interest, I posted a workbook earlier today that might get you started.

1. You'll effectively need to rotate the line (this could be done by simply rotating the direction of the "const force")
2. Start with...
Hi, whilst it's an interesting physics problem, I really think you should get professional advice on setting this thing up (and make sure they have insurance cover) and do not implement any solution posted on here before it is signed-off by a professional. I'd strongly recommend not setting up a...
Hi All,
This is part solution, part request for peer review.
I wasn't able to find a model for the motion of a particle dropped onto an elastic band so I've created my own in Excel (attached).
Note that the model is primarily focussed on the motion of the particle, and not the elastic...
