Undergrad Alternative definitions of energy?
In physics, energy is an indirectly observed quantity. It is often understood as the ability a physical system has to do work on other physical systems. Since work is defined as a force acting through a distance , energy is always equivalent to the ability to exert pulls or pushes against the...- Priya123

High School How to find heat produced from friction?
it only rubs each other when the car has put a break after some constant driving. and pls don't ask me how potential energy is produced over here as if think it a bit u will understand- Priya123

High School How to find heat produced from friction?
wat my point is that even though wat u said is correct the thing i don't accept is that friction occurs when two surfaces RUB EACH OTHER.it doesn't happen just like that and so both kinetic energy and potential energy is included in the subject.- Priya123

High School How to find heat produced from friction?
if u take a person driving a car for example only if the car has put up a brake will friction occur right? at that time heat is produced that i accept- Priya123

Undergrad Confusing case of work done by friction
if the amount of friction produced by the surface and the pencil are the same they naturally get cancelled. so it becomes 0. -

Undergrad Alternative definitions of energy?
Energy to define in simple words is nothing but a force used to do anything according to physics it can be said like this or if un want it a little more complicated:- the force used to do a work in terms of whether in motion or at rest . or that is kinetic energy and potential energy...- Priya123

High School How to find heat produced from friction?
everyone knows that everything in the world is made upn of atoms. so, take that into point. when two thing for example your hands rub each other at bthat time the atoms also rub causing a electricity like thing which produces heat.its an exothermic reaction according to thermodynamics. its as...- Priya123

High School Solid Angle Diagram: What is a Plane & Solid Angle? 1 sr & 1 rad Defined
1 sr means 1 steradian steradian is the SI unit of solid angle and 1rad means 1 radian radian is the SI unit of plane angle. Plane angle is defined as:- An angle of one radian results in an arc with a length equal to the radius of the circle. Solid angle is defined as:- the solid angle subtented...- Priya123
