How Does the Upper Bound of f^{n+1}(x) Relate to 2^{n + 1} * n! on [-1/2, 1/2]?
Let f = ln(\frac{1}{1-x}) show that if x \in [-1/2 , 1/2] then |f^{n+1}(x)| <= 2^{n + 1} * n! I am having a hard time seeing how 2^{n + 1} * n! comes into play. I have that the taylor series for f is \Sigma \frac{x^n}{n} If a take a derivative it becomes x^(n-1) and...- Punkyc7

Programs Need Opinions On Majors/Minors (Update from last year's post)
I do not think that minors mean much in the real world. If you are interested in a subject that isn't your major you should get a minor. Also a Math degree is not like calculus. I would wait to decide if you want to get a math major until you take your first proof class.- Punkyc7

Looking for start up business ideas as a first year student?
Making a game does not cost that much money to make. I had a friend in high school that did the same thing as theKracken friend. It does take him some time updating and maintaining his game though. He does not make 600 grand but he does make enough to buy himself a nice car and what ever he...- Punkyc7

Python How can I get specific elements from a tuple/list in Python without iterating?
Ok so if the select statement returns 50 tuples that are of type (int, String) and say I only wanted 5 of them, would I have to iterate over the cur or Is there a way to just get the first 5? Sorry if this is a stupid question, I am just getting into python.- Punkyc7

Python How can I get specific elements from a tuple/list in Python without iterating?
I am using python to get tuples from a db. I am doing cur.execute("Select Statement"); I use cur.fetchall to get the tuples. My question is how do you iterate over the returned tuples and store the columns into an array? I want to iterate over n tuples, not all the returned results...- Punkyc7

Calculating Baud Rate for Analog Signaling
We are using analog signaling to transmit our data. If we utilize 4 different phase shifts and 8 different amplitudes and the bit rate is 100 Kbits/s what is the baud rate of the channel? I was thinking that it is log_{2} (4 * 8)/100 =1/20 but i think it is wrong.- Punkyc7

Solve Problem w/ Generating Function e_m(x1-xn)
I am suppose to use the generating function for e_{m}(x_{1} . . . . x_{n}) to solve a problem. I have tried looking for it but I can not seem to find any information on it. Does anyone know what it is?- Punkyc7
