I have seen people write that there are no such things as "field lines", but that the magnetic field is a continuum. But
iron filings on a paper over a magnet will arrange on lines of the magnet's field...Is this an illusion, or are there "lines" that make up the field?...thank you
Did a brown dwarf ever experience fusion?
What is the smallest size star, ie., sustained fusion model? ...
how do we determine the mass that will sustain fusion of a star.?
What effect does plasma in space have on star's fusion reaction?
thank you

Probably...i think there are two ways to produce a magnetic field, from magnetized metal or by inducing current through a conductor. I think the current theory is that Earth has a dynamo within it...Some believe that Earth operates within a plasma current along with all other objects...
Thank you!...This appears to be what i have been asking for, a concise explanation...
can i assume then that since the age of the universe has changed some during my lifetime that the observation part of this procedure was what they were correcting with?..thanks
thanks, this i mostly understand... i sunburn easily, so the Dyson sphere sounds dangerous..(:
but a large sphere protecting a inner smaller one which could be made habitable at L point might be possible in the far future...population of moon under a dome would probably be easier and more...
Yes, you are correct...my scenario did seem improbable to me, but i was wondering if it was possible somewhere in the universe..maybe it's not since we don't see it. The probability that all the circumstances for such an outcome to occur would be too small...thanks
dave, as far as i can tell, 3753 Cruithne does not meet the criteria i set up, even at the orbital level. It shares Earth's orbit only part of the time..unless i misunderstood what the link info said...but it did give some interesting info about interaction of gravity and speed concerning...
dave, thanks...will check this out tomorrow...so, would this mean that a large planet would also drift about?
sorry about misunderstanding that you meant an Earth sized object at L points...would such an object have significant tidal influence on earth?..thanks
I'm questioning the mathematical models that come to conclusions that may at this time observably may be confirmed, but since there is still so much that we don't observe, require some faith to believe.
What if we observe that the universe goes back 100bly?
That would make the universe much...
dave, thank you...unless object at L4 and L5 are equal to Earth's mass it would not satisfy my question...
I am trying to determine, as unlikely as it might be, if it is possible to have habitable planets in the same orbit, twins, one following the other...i know that there are asteroids...
