The equation I found: dN/dm = f*n(r)*omega*r^2*ln(10)*10^((-M+m+5)/5) It's a simple and elegant equation, and everything seems to make sense, except the part where I didn't use the given Taylor series, but it isn't explicitly said that I must use it, it's just a hint... Well, they use the density of the stars near the Sun and its distance from the centre of the galaxy as an estimate, you could say a standard, for the density in the rest of the Milkyway. As you go further and further from the centre, the density decreases.- Rageuke
