Schools Applying for Engineering Science or an University program in Canada

Well, it's not a physics program, it's like an "honours" engineering program, so I guess that's why a lot of people go into the work force. Also, most of the 40% get into top tier graduate schools like MIT, Berkeley, Stanford, etc. (or that's what they tell us in the info booklets atleast). I...

How impt is a lappy to you during your undergrad years?

Nice! Some of those programs you've put down in that link look really useful (especially the physics simulator from Microsoft, and the math programs). I've got to show it to my parents, and try and convince them that a tablet my actually be a good idea for university! However, I too am...

UofT EngSci Admission Risks: Am I at Risk of Losing My Offer?

Oh no, I'm not freaking out about my marks...I'm freaking out about my admission getting revoked. Two different things I think. I've already know that in university, I'm not getting the 90% averages I got in high school...and I'm fine with it.

How impt is a lappy to you during your undergrad years?

I was thinking about getting a tablet PC (most probably a Lenovo one), so that I wouldn't have to keep multiple binders and notebooks, but merely write my notes on my laptop, and store it on my laptop. Would it be worth getting a tablet PC for this reason?

UofT EngSci Admission Risks: Am I at Risk of Losing My Offer?

Haha, nice! I'm really happy about this. It feels good to be certain, and not stressed out about this.

UofT EngSci Admission Risks: Am I at Risk of Losing My Offer?

Hello, This question is mainly aimed at those people who have a good idea of UofT's admission processes, especially for Engineering: I got into the EngSci program at UofT (I was very happy when I received the offer), but now I'm afraid I'm probably going to end up losing my offer. You see...

Schools Best Physics Textbook for High School Students: No Calculus Required

Get ahead in the rat race, while you can. There is only so much cheese for so many rats! Sorry...couldn't resist saying that... But, Halliday Resnick should be pretty good, I started reading it when I wasn't too great at calculus, but it was still easy to understand what was being...

Need help with univ. decision - Queen's vs Waterloo vs UofT for engineering

I disagree. Math is not my strongpoint because I don't really pay attention to it. It will be if I did. Plus, I'd enjoy it if for once someone would tell me how they got that equation and what it's purpose is, instead of just telling me to when to use it.

Need help with univ. decision - Queen's vs Waterloo vs UofT for engineering

Hey Andrew, I'm struggling with exactly the same choices you have right now, but I also have UBC Engineering to consider, and at Waterloo, I applied for the Computer Science program. Here's what I've heard/learned so far about these schools. Maybe we can compare what we've heard about them...

Engineering Science at U of Toronto

I got into EngSci as well, but, I'm beginning to doubt that it's the right program for me. I'd like to do something in Civil Engineering (and also go to a good grad school), so in the beginning, I felt that the Infrastructure option might be a perfect fit for me. Living in Toronto (huge...

Schools UBC, University of Toronto, Queen's or Waterloo for civil engineering?

Hmm, thanks you, to all of you who posted constructively. I think right now, I'm leaning towards UBC for too main reasons: 1) its got wonderful weather and 2) I have lots of friends going there.

Schools UBC, University of Toronto, Queen's or Waterloo for civil engineering?

I had an admission average of 94%. However, from what I've gathered, many universities also take into account which high school the applicant attends. There are well reported cases in the country, (private schools especially), of illegal "marks boosting" occurring. I'm lucky that I'm graduating...

Schools UBC, University of Toronto, Queen's or Waterloo for civil engineering?

Hi, I am a Canadian high school student who has been admitted to the following universities: University of British Columbia (UBC), Queen's U, University of Waterloo, and University of Toronto, into the Faculty of Applied Science. I plan on being a civil engineering in the future, so...
