The water pump idea is sort of growing on me, at first my design friend suggested a flywheel of around 400 pounds or so connected to my poor little engine, my concern about this was that it would certainly grind my engine into a frothy pulp before everything came to rest sould I have a...

Thanks for the web link and for the water pump idea, I've passed this information along to my design guy (I am just an idiot machinist) for his approval, I'm thinking I'd have to gear the pump down to a reasonable speed, my engine will run 12,000 RPM all day long and I doubt a water...
I have a couple of questions about 2 cycle engines:
1) Can someone further explain “time-area” to me in regard to the 2 cycle engine porting? I do grasp the basic concept of time-area values and I do have a formula to calculate the time-area values for a 2 cycle engine however there is still...
Andy,
My concern would not be that of the initial impact of the front wheel of the vehicle running over your device but rather that of the real wheel after the front wheel tosses your device into the air and flips it over a few times...
Just a thought...

The final solution:
Rex @ Rex Caunt Racing (see above posts) has offered to make my RG500 ignition work and work well for me. He has designed a all new CDI box to better cope with my ignition needs and he is working on this little project as I am writing this. Rex has also sent me pictures of...
Hi Rex,
No, I haven't come up with a solution to my perplexing little problem yet and I will be more that happy to hear what you've come up with on your KR500.
I'll email you.
Cheers,

A suggestion was made that I might want to try using a rotor with stronger (state of the art) magnets. Of course I would have to make a rotor such as this and test it to a high RPM since the rotor is only inches away from my left foot and I have become rather fond of the use of my left foot over...
Not a Hallmark card but a card that an old girl friend sent me a long time ago...
Friends may come and friends may go and friends may peter out you know,,, but peter out or peter in we'll be friends through thick and thin...
2 cycle motorcycle engines commonly use a "fuel enrichening" device that, when activated, adds fuel directly from the float bowl (through a small metering orifice) to the inlet air stream on the engine side of the carburetor slide valve. If you were to open the throttle, there by breaking the...
I was doing a little off road motorcycle riding in the Colorado Peru Creek mining district, a rather remote area. It was early in December an the weather was quite chilly, cold enough for water to freeze on my boots and motorcycle both, it was rather windy and also snowing lightly all day...
