Stargazing Calculating the Resolving power of a Telescope

Is that not the same as 1mm = 1,000,000nm ?

Stargazing Calculating the Resolving power of a Telescope

Lets assume I have a telescope with an aperture of 200 mm, if we also assume λ has a wavelength of 500 nm According to; http://labman.phys.utk.edu/phys222core/modules/m9/resolving_power.htm θ = 1.22 λ/d, where θmin is the angular separation that can be resolved. 1.22 * 500 nm / 200 mm = 3.05...

Persistant circuit with a tactile switch

Hello, I have a set of switches that would look good on my project however they are all tactile SPST. Is there anyway (without the use of an IC) to turn these momentary switches into a SPDT and/or a latching SPST. I want to switch the circuit on and off with a green and red led changing...

Build a Reusable Stripboard for Easy Circuit Tweaking

Just been checking them out on Maplin.co.uk, they look quite good but prices are from £1.99 to £19.99. Can you recommend a good one, how well do the components hold in, they're a little loose on my version. I was thinking I could make a big board with lots of fixed springs to hold them in place.

Build a Reusable Stripboard for Easy Circuit Tweaking

A breadboard is something I keep in my kitchen  And mine only cost £1 plus I didn't have to wait for delivery.

Build a Reusable Stripboard for Easy Circuit Tweaking

Hello, after failing on a few circuits I thought I need to be able to swap and change my components a little more easily then soldering all the time. So I've built a reusable solderless stripboard, that I can swap and change my components around. I had a bunch of 18pin DIL sockets that I got...

How Can I Calculate Resistors for a Transistor Switch with an LDR?

I'm actually using Stripboard Magic to work out the logic for me as I got a couple projects wrong on my own. I've screen printed what Stripboard Magic told me to do however I assumed it got the VR wrong so I basically moved everything on row 10 down to row 11 without the break. This did not work...

How Can I Calculate Resistors for a Transistor Switch with an LDR?

Is that because resistors in parallel can be caluculated by; R5 (47kΩ) * VR (0Ω) / R5 (47kΩ) + VR (0Ω) = 0 / 47k = 0Ω resistance? So am I to assume if there is no resistance, the current will not even go through the transistor? Would this still be the case if there was nominal resistance...

How Can I Calculate Resistors for a Transistor Switch with an LDR?

I'm trying to replicate this, but I think I bought the wrong LDR so I'm trying to work out how to compensate. http://www.madlab.org/schematics/StopThief.pdf

How Can I Calculate Resistors for a Transistor Switch with an LDR?

Hello, I have a transistor (BC547B) that is being used as a switch, connected to the base I have an 9v battery and an LDR with a maximum resistance of 1m ohms. However this is still not enough not to switch off the transistor. Can someone tell me how I can work out what resistors I need, so the...
