Why multiple turbines drive a single generator
Can it be because having a single generator is less costly and would be more efficient as multiple generators would lead to some type of internal losses due to resistance or friction...- saadsarfraz

What Is the Correct Derivative of the Function p(t)?
Homework Statement Hi can anyone tell me what is the derivative of this function. Homework Equations p(t) = u(X(t), t) The derivative of p with respect to t The Attempt at a Solution dp/dt = du/dX * dX/dt + 1 ?? or is it going to be du/dX * dX/dt- saadsarfraz

Schools Weird marking scheme for university course -
Hi, I am doing this really crazy course at university, i need some help in understanding the final course mark calculation which is: Course mark = 0.6max{ T, F} + 0.4min{T, F} T = term mark = 0.3( average percentage on assignments) + 0.7( average percentage on term tests) F = final exam...- saadsarfraz

Graduate Anderson localization - waves experiment
I was doing this experiment with the setup which as follows. You have long aluminium bar which as 28 masses attached to bar evenly. The bar is vibrated at several different frequencies and we see a bunch of normal modes at particular frequencies. the collection of normal modes is called a band i...- saadsarfraz

Undergrad Matrix Eigenvectors: How Many Are Linearly Independent?
the characteristic equation is r(r-1)=0 which gives r=0 and r=1, for r=0 i get x2=0 and for r=1 i get x1=0,i think there might be two independent eigenvectors, but i would be grateful if someone could tell me what those eigenvectors be in this case.- saadsarfraz

Undergrad Matrix Eigenvectors: How Many Are Linearly Independent?
Hi, I am a little confused how do you find out when a matrix has two independent eigenvectors or when it has one or when it has more than two, or is it possible it can have no eigenvectors.- saadsarfraz

Proving No Constructible Roots for x^(6) - x^(2) + 2 = 0
ok i made the substitution x=y+1 and now I have this polynomial y^6 + 6y^5 + 15y^4 + 20y^3 + 14y^2 + 4y + 2 = 0, all i have to do is show that this has irrational roots but i just don't know how.- saadsarfraz
