Should I Take Algebra-Based or Calculus-Based Physics?
Well, if you can't manage Calc II and Physics I in the same semester, I don't know how well you'll be able to cope with the rest of the program. That depends on your school, of course, but still. . . Really, if you are going into the Physics, there is not much point to taking an Algebra based...- SamuelGreen800

Why Not Join the Discworld Appreciation Thread?
I love Pratchett's work. The guards series are definitely my favourite. I'm actually rereading "Jingo" right now.- SamuelGreen800

Exploring Theoretical Physics: Summer Reading List
The Penrose is heavy reading. The book is interesting, but I honestly doubt you will get too much out of it if you don't already have a bit of a grasp on some of the mathematics involved. He just tries to do too much in too little space in the first half of the book. The Einstein is a bit less...- SamuelGreen800

Studying Effective Learning Strategies: Textbooks vs. Lecture Notes?
I generally don't look at my lectures notes after I take them down. I take a lot of them, but not for the sake of later revision. I find that I have a hard time understanding anything even slightly complicated when it is stated verbally, especially if it involves any sort of mathematical...- SamuelGreen800

Schools Should I take College Algebra and then Trig or just skip it and take Precalc?
That's an important point. Most Precalc courses are designed as a skill review, whereas college algebra is usually set to be a full instruction course in a narrower topic set. You'll cover the core concepts, but you won't spend too much time with them, and the precalc will move a lot faster...- SamuelGreen800

Can Stroke be Prevented? Tips for Adults
Mainly, live a healthy lifestyle. This includes a healthy diet, and lots of exercise (of course). It's important to keep you blood pressure down, which ties into the lifestyle. I'm still young, but I have high blood pressure, so the lifestyle is something that I fight to keep up with. The...- SamuelGreen800

Is Law & Order: Trial by Jury Worth Watching?
I really liked it. I thought it was engaging, and I always preferred the original L&O, because it had the most court and prosecution scenes. I dislike CI for the lack of them. But other people I know complained about it being too "boring" or "heavy", which I would assume is why it was...- SamuelGreen800

Problem Solvers Series: Reviews & Discussion
I looked through one of those at a Borders. They are pretty much like Norman described. Lots of worked problems, and minimal discussion. Seemed pretty good for what it was though.- SamuelGreen800

Best Calculator for Pre-College Math/Science Classes
I'd recommend an 86. The layout is much less annoying than an 83, it is allowed by all of the Math Departments I have ever heard of, and it has all the power you need. The only downside is that a department geared toward 83/4s may not give you the best support for it, so you need to play with it...- SamuelGreen800

How I Got My Drivers License in 9 Months
I have neither my liscence, nor my permit, as I am exceptionally lazy about it. I quite frankly do not have any wish to drive until I actually need to. Which will be next year when my Dad graduates from our University and I no longer have a ride.- SamuelGreen800

Life After Summer: Secure Career & School Options
Summer was fun, but I'm looking forward to starting school. August 24th is bearing down fast though, so I think I'm definitely going to work as hard as I can at doing absolutely nothing until then. Except for when I have to get all my junk for classes.- SamuelGreen800

Not really surprising. Not really thread worthy either. But man I would like to move to Canada when I get out of school. Such beautiful countryside has quite a pull for me.- SamuelGreen800
