ANYS Static Structural, How to simulate 'ground ?
I would start by making one of the edge fixed and then applying force on the other edge as required. If this is a 1D problem, i would make one of the nodes fixed and applying force to the other node.- saurya08

Need help in comsol multiphysics
Do you understand the problem? I would start with geometric modelling. Boundary conditions and intial conditions would follow. I have not used comsol, but I think that is the way to go.- saurya08

Can 4 Grade 8.8 Bolts Hold an 800lb Diesel Engine on an Engine Stand?
Bruca 003, Your question is a bit vague. A picture would be a great help. Please state how far apart are the bolts and the overall size of the engine(for CG). It is not a good idea to calculate the direct shear stress only; bending stress also needs to be calculated ( with the possibility of...- saurya08

What are the shear and principal stresses for given stress components?
Guys I'm sorry, I made a calculation error during my previous post. I get σ1=208 MPA and σ2=-108MPA;θ1=9.2°. So, there was an error in calculation which was initially posted.- saurya08

What are the shear and principal stresses for given stress components?
I think it is too late for me to reply to this thread, I could not hold myself. You are right, there is nothing wrong with your solution. The only things remaining are to make that stress diagrams. Rotate the stress element diagram by 9.2 degrees and put the values of principal stresses. You...- saurya08
