Ideas for My Project: Fixing a 60-Year-Old World Time Clock
You suggested a pulse width modulator an engineer at work was discussing with me how they work etc. however I've just been lookign on the internet and I don't really understand how they work or what they do. I think I'm destined to be a failed electrical engineer, the more I see the less I know!- Sawyer888

Ideas for My Project: Fixing a 60-Year-Old World Time Clock
What do you mean by using a voltage to pulse an ic (i'm assuming that stands for input controller?) I'm an apprentice so you'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge- Sawyer888

Ideas for My Project: Fixing a 60-Year-Old World Time Clock
interesting and potentially useful idea, however the frequency of the pulse cannot be changed because of the way the coil mechanism works, as the coil pushes a small ratcheted gear, turning the clock arm half a minute, which I should have mentioned earlier. I was thinking of setting up a PLC...- Sawyer888

How Can I Measure Water Levels in a Tank for PLC Integration?
You could a Liquiphant level switch, depending on what you want the swithc to do it will send a 24v signal through the switch wire to a relay,PLC o whatever you have set up. The Liquiphant has basically two paddle/prong arrangements that vibrate at a certain frequency, as soon as they are...- Sawyer888

Ideas for My Project: Fixing a 60-Year-Old World Time Clock
I have recently in work been given a sort of mini project I have been handed what must be about 60 years old or so world time clock, this is one of those arrangements where you have an arrangement of small clocks in a cabinet with each clock representing the time of a different city in the...- Sawyer888

Electrical Engineering: Transformer Question for Power Shower
So are you saying that whatever the load/resistance is on the secondary coil (24v motor) and its properties directly affect the resistance on the primary coil and therefore causes a volt drop and hence current drop on the primary because whatever resistance the motor has is proportionally...- Sawyer888

Electrical Engineering: Transformer Question for Power Shower
Hi, I'm an apprentice multiskilled engineer, thought I prefer electrical engineering anywho, my power shower at home stopped working and upon testing there was no ouput from the transformer, 230v/24v DC and it got me thinking, I'm aware of the step up/down voltage theory etc and the windings...- Sawyer888
