Medical Can Turritopsis nutricula really live forever?
I know a lot of genes involved in cancer suppression are also related to aging. Right now it seems the ability to repair the body and the ability to guard against cancer are antagonistic. So it may be that a limited life span of a certain length was selected for because it allowed the highest...- sceeth0

Is Your Chihuahua Braver Than You?
I've encountered a great deal more overly aggressive Chihuahuas, than ones exhibiting any sort of heroic proclivities. So as to what actually happened, I have to wonder. It was already pointed out that if the snake struck the dog, it likely meant to. Of course this could mean something...- sceeth0

Graduate Could Jupiter Be Ignited for Fusion?
The combustible seas of titan are mostly methane right? What's the estimated temperature of those seas? If you can't raise the temperature high enough, you aren't going to have the energy to break apart existing bonds. I'm thinking even if you had an arbitrary unit of methane and oxygen to...- sceeth0

GOAre the members of these forums sane?

Lingusitics In your language a dog/cat says:
I highly doubt they mention this subject in any situation other than one of extreme solitude and secrecy. After all, their joint monopoly of two-way time travel sets up the more affluent in their society for pretty cushy lives. Why risk spreading the information that could upset this system?- sceeth0

Stress and Its Impact on My Friend's Health
Could you elaborate on the pain? Stress could certainly cause it, and I've seen stress trigger latent sleep disorders like sleep apnea and others that could cause breathing troubles during sleep, but I wouldn't rule out other causes.- sceeth0

Lingusitics In your language a dog/cat says:
By convention it should be : dog - woof cat- meow here in TX, but I've never understood why, as my animals have always spoken to me in perfect english. (admittedly the cat sometimes lapses into latin when it's tired)- sceeth0

Understanding Bacterial Conjugation & the F Factor Plasmid
How about the formation of the Sex Pilus? And what happens when two F+ bacteria meet? What keeps both of them from trying to copy into the other?- sceeth0
