Trying to turn water into ice relatively quickly
With all the facts i have gathered. I feel like this might actually work. Now the real question is how cold will the ice get? It seems like it would need a constant boil and freeze to get the temperature where it needs to be, like watters mentioned in his first post. Anyone know what i could use... -

Trying to turn water into ice relatively quickly
Sorry, car vacuum is not something that i am very familiar with but i do know there is a lot of vacuum as the piston comes down and most of it can be found right behind the throttle plate and intake manifold. From using a vacuum gauge for diagnosing problems in the past, most cars seem to read... -

Trying to turn water into ice relatively quickly
Yes i completely understand where you guys are coming from. The issue here is this is for my project track car that does not have AC. I am trying to make a chilled copper line similar to those used in air conditioners for under my driver seat. I was thinking with the cars vacuum line, having a... -

Trying to turn water into ice relatively quickly
Hey "watters" Actually now that i think about it, doesn't the temperature only slightly change? the water boils but they were doing the experiments with room temperature water. I know ice doesn't flow but if the whole line was water, then feezes, i don't see a reason for it to not get cool... -

Trying to turn water into ice relatively quickly
I was reading that you can simply freeze water by using a vacuum. It boils then it freezes. I wonder how you could take the waters evaporation and have it filled back into the container once the vaccume is turned off. I feel this would work great to make lines under a car seat to add "cooled... -

Undergrad Possible to make your own magnetic gears?
Thanks for the reply! Did some reasearch on eddy currents and it all seems like jibberish to me. From what i took in is that it happens whenthe magnetic field changes within a non magnet item. I was considering using the repel side since i was told the repel side is much stronger with repel...- Seanshine

Undergrad Possible to make your own magnetic gears?
Is it possible? Could i cut a round piece of aluminum and stick magnets into it to resemble a spur gear? I am trying to make a 4:1 gear ratio but eliminate friction, i was thinking if i could custom fit magnets in the aluminum wheel (since magnets are not atrracted to aluminum). I would have...- Seanshine

Where/how to make a plastic piston valve
Intresting.. I took apart one spray bottle i had and saw that cup seal that you just mentioned.. Really interesting, the only gaskets and o ring i have ever used were parts for a car like pistons and misc parts. It seems to slide easy since its plastic against plastic, and the cup skirt is a tad...- Seanshine

The syringe is a good idea. But even the syringe doesn't give "spray bottle like" ease with the trigger- Seanshine

Where/how to make a plastic piston valve
I have tried everything and it seems like i cannot get it right, i don't have the right tools for anything. I am cutting the grooves with a knife and i always don't cut enough or i cut to deep and it leaks air really bad Is theyre really no place i could buy this? Its seems impossible that i...- Seanshine

Where/how to make a plastic piston valve
This^^ Thanks for the reply. I actually found pvc small enough. But as you stated my problem is the o ring is too tight. Even with all the lubrication i have tried like vegetable oil wd40 and pb blaster its still a shove to get down. Its either too "loose" and the water leaks or its too tight...- Seanshine

Where/how to make a plastic piston valve
I have a project for school and need to make a hand water pump. The thing is, it needs to be a "mini" pump. I will be using 2 mini 1 way check valves and a t fitting, but the problem is i cannot find a way to make the actual piston pump. I also need a spring to draw the piston back up so i can...- Seanshine

Need design for a rectangle "like" spray bottle
I am sorry for the mis-understanding, I just didn't want to make a long post for a quick answer. Basically I am trying to make a "shoe shine" looking sponge with a reservoir at the top. So I could use it around the house for various things like' shining my shoes without having to spread the gel...- Seanshine
