I have this same problem and can't figure it out for the life of me. I have been working the problem for a good 2 hours now. I got 175=2Tsin(theta) 175=2T[d/(sqrt(9+d^2))] then I replaced T with kd since T=kd so 87.5=500[d^2/(sqrt(9+d^2)] Can someone tell me if this is correct so far...
