yes it should read<x>=<\psi|x|\psi> = \int_{-\infty}^{\infty}\psi^*x\psi dx make sure you write it in this form too. Otherwise when you start putting in other operators like p you will get it wrong.

Well i see them used all the time. I took a complex variables course already and it hasnt helped me too much, but i expect that it eventually will. It reall helped me in my math methods class.

I always have to work that way, because everyone else waits till the night before the assignment is due and ends up staying up all night and turning in a halfassed incomplete homework.
