Graduate Properties of some compounds
Yes I have checked these links...wikipedia have little info about Mu-metals but not about rest, also I have checked references therein, but things are not so clear. Generally referances leads to commercial website which provide there own info. I am looking for kind of scientific and reliable...- Shriphysics

Graduate Properties of some compounds
Dear All, I am curious to know about some materials listed below- Mumetals, Permalloy, Supermalloy, Permendur, Perminvar and Sendust. I am interested to study there magnetic properties like permeability, hysteresis, temp. dependence of magnetism etc, if possible coefficient of...- Shriphysics

Undergrad Plane Indices: An Interesting Debate
Hi Johng23, I got that if we consider origin at b=1 on given y-axis point then indices are as you said...but if we consider origin at some other points (suppose a=1 on x axis) then answer will be different. Kindly is there any idea rule to consider origin?? In any case thanks for your...- Shriphysics

Undergrad Plane Indices: An Interesting Debate
Bravo Johng23, Your answer is perfect...I was checking all suggestion by inserting values on the link http://www.doitpoms.ac.uk/tlplib/miller_indices/lattice_draw.php but no value was leading for this plane except yours. But still I can't say that I got it 100%. Here x intercept is 1, y...- Shriphysics

What is phase in material science
Hi Mapes, Thanks for reply...I was also thinking same but wanted to confirm from someone. Anyway now I wonder if you know FeTe is 11 phase no problems about it, but when we prepare a composite Fe(1)Se(0.5)Te(0.5) then also we say it as 11 phase, why its not like 1 1/2 1/2 phase??- Shriphysics

What is phase in material science
What is 1111 phase in material science Hi Guys, I wonder if someone tells me about what are the rules for nomenclature of phases in materials. Generally I read like 1111 phase, 122 family, 11 system. I don't understand completely about this. Does they talk about composition or something else...- Shriphysics
