    Making Electronic Music: Software Recommendations

I've been composing, primarily in Reason for some time and I've discovered some interesting software along the way. I'd recommend that you stick with Reason for software, though, unless you want to get into audio programming languages like Csound, Pure Data, or Supercollider. Reason seems to...

    A short survey for mathematicians

Vanadium 50, I did not mean to come across as feeling entitled to a response, or to seem demanding. I apologize to everyone who read it that way. Aside from that: collecting answers to this survey is an assignment for Writing for the Natural Sciences. Any urgency/forcefulness you have...

That's an excellent idea, Choppy! Thank you!

    A short survey for mathematicians

Evo, I haven't spent any time on public forums of this sort before, so I apologize if this is astoundingly common knowledge, but: how to I find out who the mentors of the physics and math areas are?

    A short survey for mathematicians

I found this site while searching for places to get responses to this survey. You'll forgive me for accumulating posts gradually, I hope. Aside from which, all I'm really asking for is time spent answering these questions, but you had to go and be difficult by giving me time in the form of...

At a crossroads (drop out? chase a dream? time out?)

I'm in a similar position. Shat around during high school, actually ended up dropping out, only got a GED at the insistence of everyone around me, worked for a while. I entered the local college as a philosophy major and hated it and stopped after the first semester. All this time I was...

    A short survey for mathematicians

13 short-response questions for physicists OK. I didn't get very many replies to my survey directed toward mathematicians, so here's the same survey, only now for physicists. I'm on the fence as to whether I should study physics or mathematics and it's still early enough in my college...

Which Luxury Watch Brand Should I Choose?

Get a Casio CA53W1 calculator watch. It's the only watch worth wearing, I think. You can grab them for around 10USD on Amazon. If you must have 'nice' then but a separate band from a company that specializes in them. You could probably even have a custom band made for a reasonable price.

Twitter: Is It Worth the Time and Effort?

Twitter, Myspace, Second Life... *rips hair out* Sharing information is great, but I think that the information deluge is making us more reliant on corporations that help us sort that information and making the web less free as a side-effect. Semi-relevantly and amusingly: here's a link...

    A short survey for mathematicians

Thanks, mathwonk. I said "Yes!" out loud when I read your response to #10. Are you being serious in the last sentence of your response to #8? I can read it either way.

    A short survey for mathematicians

I'm currently studying mathematics at the undergraduate level and am required to conduct the following survey. I apologize if 'Career Guidance' is not the correct section for this, but it seemed the likeliest fit to me. Any responses at all would be greatly appreciated. 1.Please state your...
