Schools How to find time for grad school?

So what you are telling me is that graduate students are usually given the chance to do paid research while working on their degree? If so does it apply to MA and PhD or just PhD?

Schools How to find time for grad school?

I was wondering about doing grad school after my bachelors, but I was wondering how that works. Do most people put their professional life while doing it? I was thinking of teaching HS(High school) throughout my time as a graduate student, but it seems pretty overwhelming having a job AND being...

Are there any theories in physics that you don't believe?

I guess I failed to back my reasoning in the question. I heard many times over and over again in articles and documentaries that there could be a way to go back/forward in time that we are unaware of. A lot of times black holes are referenced as something that could be used as such. I don't...

Are there any theories in physics that you don't believe?

I myself don't really believe that the rules of physics break down inside a black hole or that time can go backwards. I was wondering if there is anything that some people do not believe or have serious doubts about.

Calculating Redshift for Objects in the Universe

I know that this is pretty unrelated to the question, but one time, my professor told me that the redshift can be large enough that we can't observe objects with visible light anymore. For example, a object could be moving away so fast that the wavelength would be low enough to only be able to...

How much does the school you graduate from matter?

You are right. I need to train my mind to excel and not settle.

Understand Sin(-θ)=-Sinθ | Tricky Math Concept

Now THAT makes sense. I was looking at it from a purely mathematical formula. I did not think of the graph that comes along with it.

Understand Sin(-θ)=-Sinθ | Tricky Math Concept

I'm having a hard time understanding this concept when cos(-θ)=cosθ . It doesn't seem to make sense.

Why does the furthest stars seem to be moving away faster than light?

I meant to say galaxies, not stars. I couldn't find the direct link to the information. I feel silly now.

How much does the school you graduate from matter?

Thanks for all the helpful information here. I am starting early with research, I am going to be working with the graduate director of my school my Sophomore year at the observatory and I'm really looking forward to that. I don't know how famous he is, I'm a little skeptical about revealing his...

How much does the school you graduate from matter?

    1) How much does it matter when getting a job? Would a student with a lower GPA that went to a more prestigious school be considered more than a student with a nearly perfect GPA going to a school that is not that great? 2) How much does it matter when applying to graduate school? For...

New Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey 2014 TV Series

I LOVED the optics episode, it was awesome!

Why does the furthest stars seem to be moving away faster than light?

I heard somewhere that the amount of redshift in the most distant stars show that they are moving away faster than light and its due to the shape of the universe. I was wondering how do we even know what she shape of the universe is, I thought we couldn't see any boundaries.
