If the outside "bubble" is unaware if a star exists in its center and only uses energy measurements to verify the existence of such a star then the conclusion is that no energy is output and therefore no star is present (it could be black hole if gravity can be measured). So to an observer...- sten

My own take on this experiment's interpretation is that the energy was not "lost", it was used to "fuel" the expansion (therefore the accelerating rate). That would mean dark energy is not that dark in its origin and that we'd never see it. Even further - energy and space will have to be...- sten

I don't think "definition" is enough - it would be hard to redefine the math of space-time geometry by just changing the definition. It's a nice coincidence that we can, but you can't just pick anything laying around and say "hey, this will be my straight line". The reason I asked this question...- sten

Still... I'm not asking for evidence, I'm sure they are the same value. I'm not questioning GR either - I'm only pointing out that such a fact lies in the core of it. What I'm looking for is "why" are they the same value.- sten
