    Solving √ x + 4/3 y with p = 3.4 e3 Kg m-³

    Heres the question – :bugeye: √ x + 4/3 y √ p (this whole equation should be squared, but not sure how to make the square root symbol big enough) p = 3.4 e3 Kg m-³ x = 1.6 e11 N m-² y = 6.4 e10 N m-² I need to calculate the answer and give my answer in Km...

    Calculating the speed of P-waves.

more like this it should really read like below, but couldn't get the formula right to put the equation in prop. x+4/3y this should be on the top line then its divided by the p. any ideas please any help will be usefull, cheers

    Calculating the speed of P-waves.

    Any one any good at calculating equations? Using the equation below, V_{p}=\frac{\sqrt{\frac{x+4}{3y}}}{p} P = 3.4 x10³ Kg m¯³ X = 1.6 x1011 N m¯² Y = 6.4 x1010 N m¯² I need to calculate the value of Vp and I need to give my answer in Km per second...

Rearranging Algebraic Equations: How to Make P the Subject

Thanks  Thank you for your help. I worked it out (doesn't seem so hard now ) Glad I found this website though, i will probably be using it a lot! and how did you get the square root sign?

Rearranging Algebraic Equations: How to Make P the Subject

Sorry no not quite what I was trying to write, I'm not sure how to put in a symbol for the square root. I'll try again ( ) Vp = sqr x+4/3y p (the p should be centred under the equation, but it won't stay there sorry)

Rearranging Algebraic Equations: How to Make P the Subject

Can someone help - algebra This may look really simple to you, however I'm having a hard job trying to rearrange this equation, please could you give me some pointers of what I should be doing - most greatfull  How can I rearrange this equation to make p the subject? Vp = ^x + 4/3y...
