Rule by the Smart: Intelligence Tests as Prerequisite to Public Rule

So as not to detract from the main issue, if someone who was very smart but not very nice got into power, what would happen?

Rule by the Smart: Intelligence Tests as Prerequisite to Public Rule

Hitler then made elections illegal so that he could put forward long term plans for his country, but in theory this could happen anywhere although hopefully people won't let this happen. As long as elections remain everything should be ok.

Whoever ends up in charge, they still may not be very nice but as long as elections enable the public to do something about it then there is no problem.

Rule by the Smart: Intelligence Tests as Prerequisite to Public Rule

Rule by the smart is all well and good, but it doesn't mean that these smart people are very nice. Hitler was a genius but he was the last person you would want to run a country.

Understanding the Relationship between Kinetic Energy and Momentum in Collisions

Thanks to all those who replied. Sorry for the long delay in this reply. One final thing, could two objects possesses the same momentum but hold different kinetic energies, for example an object of 1kg mass traveling at 1ms, KE = 1/2 * 1 * 1^2 = 0.5J and momentum = 1 * 1 = 1kgms and an...

Understanding the Relationship between Kinetic Energy and Momentum in Collisions

I am having problems with the kinetic energy formula KE = 1/2 mv^2. If an object of 1kg travels at a speed of 1ms its kinetic energy is 1/2 * 1 * 1^2 = 0.5J. But if it collides with an object of 0.5kg which is stationary, to conserve momentum which is equal to mass * velocity = 1 * 1 = 1kgms...
