Critique my statement of purpose
Hey I'm also interested in meteorology/oceanography! Very nice. I applied to a USA university for PhD in the same field and I was not offered an admission. Later, I received some comments on my Statement of Purpose (not by them) that I found very valuable. I plan to apply again, so I think...- Stommel

You can take the Keys to Cognition Test for your MBTI anf cognitive functions report. I think it does help but it's not good to go to labels... I mostly get INTJ, sometimes ISTJ. Normally the NT types are good for physics and so on.- Stommel

Theoretical physics but worse in math
My opinion is that you must take some additional courses, mostly about Math for Physicists, complex variable, at least another course on linear algebra and differential equations including PDEs. So, I would do the master first with upper level courses... Some Physics programs have admission...- Stommel

Ocean salinity and its affect on surface tension
I don't think surface tension has an important influence. Actually, surface tension is not even included in studies on the ocean skin layer dynamics. The only part where I'd see this in on bubble jets and spray production, but only to parameterize fluxes, mostly momentum and heat fluxes...- Stommel
