Confused on how nothing can be faster then light

It would be more or less an illusion. What matters here is that nothing with mass can travel at or faster than 299,792,458 m/s. Both object A and B (at 60% of c) are traveling at 179,875,474 m/s. Neither has truly exceeded the speed of light, even if it seems as such from either perspective.

Confused on how nothing can be faster then light

This I'm not entirely sure about here's how it seems to me: Yes, say they are both traveling at 60% of c. In reference to object A, object B would be traveling towards it at 120% of c and vice versa, however neither has actually exceeded the speed of light. They would both be experiencing the...

Confused on how nothing can be faster then light

The problem with any type of matter traveling at or near the speed of light is that as speed increases, so does mass. At the speed of light mass would become infinite and thus require infinite propulsion and there are just all sorts of problems with that. Not to mention faster than light travel...

Is the Graviton the Key to Understanding Gravity?

Why? As I understand it General Relativity states that gravity is the warping of space-time, so it seems a reasonable assumption that as a consequence of this that gravity does not require a force carrying particle as the strong and electroweak forces do. Are there theories being explored...

Interview with someone in Physics Field

I am doing an interview paper on relating a sub-field of psychology to one's major. I am in my first year of pursuing a physics degree. The paper is on relating the human perception of time to time according to the theories of relativity. Anyway, the research portion of my paper turned out to...

Psychology & Physics: Finding Essential Connections

The list referred is not strict, in fact its rather useless. Its a listing of chapters in the textbook that have to do with various sub-fields. By no means are they all inclusive in fact I have found the book to be rather useless for my problem. My main problem is finding anything to do with...

Psychology & Physics: Finding Essential Connections

I have just started going back to school, and am currently taking a psychology course. I am majoring in physics and this has caused a bit of a problem for this interview paper assignment: (1) Pick a sub-field from psychology (see main chapters listed in the Table of Contents in your...
