The dimensions of elementary particles in quantum physics and string theory

I noticed that in quantum physics, an elementary particle has no dimensions, and is point like, but in string theory has one dimension. Why is this?

    Strings and elementary particles

I do believe that elementary particles are one-dimensional, not zero-dimensional.

Is Earth a Part of Space or its Own Entity?

If you mean that Earth is separate from space (like in a small bubble outside space) then no. Earth is indeed in space. "Space" is quite well named, as it's in every space that isn't taken by an object, e.g. a brick. So when you're walking along the road, you're still in space, as to say.

Are Black Holes Really Black and Just Holes?

Surely that means that super-massive black holes could work as the cosmological constant, along with dark matter, but also could bring the end to whole solar systems, maybe even galaxies.

    Particle composition vs particle decay

After some thinking, it seems that it is not so much decaying so much as metamorphosis. It looks as if, for instance, the muon transforms into an electron and 2 neutrinos. This would also explain your other question, if turned around. Remember Einstein's equation, e=mc2, this implies that mass...

    Particle composition vs particle decay

Ah, I think I misunderstood a little. Surely A WOULD be composed of B and C?

Are Black Holes Really Black and Just Holes?

Perhaps, but you would be pulled apart by the immense gravitational pull before you got through it, which is why we don't know for sure. Also, I don't think they are "holes" so much as spheres, because, after all, they are collapsed stars.

Where is the Oldest Impact Crater on Earth Located?

Doesn't that mean that some valuable metals may have come as a result of meteorite impacts?
