Boiling point of ethers and alkanes
2 reasons: 1) As an alkane or alkyl gets longer but does not branch, its BP increases b/c it can have more Van der Waals interactions; thus, ethyl-propyl-ether has a higher bp than ethyl methyl ether;;; hexane has a higher BP than pentance, etc. hope this helps. -

When are oogenesis and spermatogenesis arrested until the onset of puberty?
i made a mistake in my original post... the 1˚ spermatocyte actually does arrest. I'm not sure when.- tdod

Is ∆E = q always true at constant volume?
So, I know that at constant volume ∆E = q. However, at constant pressure ∆E = q + w. Therefore, shouldn't they be different?- tdod

Is ∆E = q always true at constant volume?
True or False: "The Heat, q, at constant volume is equal to the change in internal energy, ∆E, for the process at constant pressure." I know that this is true, but i can't for the life of me figure out why. Can anyone explain? Thanks!- tdod
