    Understanding Forces on Inclined Surfaces

    I am sorry but I do not understand, how does "a cos(30°) = g sin(30°) cos(30°)" get vertical component, it gives the same answer as "g sin(30°)" which is parallel to the incline. The good news is I found my FBD problem.

    Understanding Forces on Inclined Surfaces

    Fparallel = mgsin30 ma = mgsin30 a = gsin30 Fperpendicular = mgcos30 ma = mgcos30(Fn) - mgcos30(Fg in perpendicular direction) a = gcos30 - gcos30 a = 0 In the vertical direction alone: Fg = mg ma = mg - Fnormal a = 0

    Understanding Forces on Inclined Surfaces

    Vertical force should be Fg = mg, but how is there vertical acceleration? Should it not be zero since the Normal force and Force of gravity balance each other? Or would it be a = mtotalgcos30 - mtotalg / mtotal

    Understanding Forces on Inclined Surfaces

    An object is placed on top of a spring scale which strapped to a horizontal surface. They slide down on an incline of 30 degrees. Friction is ignored. What fraction of the weight does the spring scale read of the top object? (Only incline is given, and friction is ignored) The problem is I do...

    Understanding Forces on Inclined Surfaces

    I have two questions: Pic 1: An object is placed on top of a spring scale which strapped to a horizontal surface. They slide down on an incline of 30 degrees. Friction is ignored. What fraction of the weight does the spring scale read of the top object? (Only incline is given, and friction is...

    Rope with mass but ignoring Pulley

    If there is a problem like in the image provided, and the rope has a mass but the pulley is not being considered in the problem, what forces would the rope affect the man with? Since the rope touches the ground will the rope send a normal force up which pushes the man up? I am assuming that...

    Anyone? Should I post the actual question on post?

    How Do Forces and Tension Interact in Pulley Systems?

    Thanks, it is great to be here. The problem is that I do not know where to start I am really stuck. What I was looking for was really an explanation of the concepts and to know where to start. All other homework questions I was given I did with ease, but with these problems I am finding there...

    How Do Forces and Tension Interact in Pulley Systems?

    Physics 12U - 2 Force Problems Homework Statement See attachment. I am very confused with these two questions. Question 1: I understand how to do the pulley. Would the force the guy at the top is being pulled at be the same as the force with which the guy needs to push with? How does a...
