Schools How to Craft a Winning Biomedical Engineering Grad School Essay?
Hey all, I'm applying to grad school this fall, and I'm starting to think about my application essay. I'm going for biomedical engineering (specifically imaging), and most of the essay topics are similar (Why is this program right for you? Why do you want to study it? etc.) I just bought...- unhorizon

Math sequence for advanced optics
"Div, Grad, Curl and all that" by H.M. Schey is an awesome informal text on vector calculus. I'm using it right now for self study, and it's really good. Also, you may want to look into "Optics" by Eugene Hecht. I think this book may be at a lower level then what you are interested in, but...- unhorizon

Schools Minimum GRE scores for competitive grad school
I do not plan on getting into grad school on my GRE's alone (obviously). My question is "do you think a 760 Quant will get me past a first cut in the admissions process." Phrased differently, do you think competitive grad schools look at applications with scores as low as 760 quant? My...- unhorizon

Schools Minimum GRE scores for competitive grad school
I just want to say that posts like this aren't useful. Not only does it fail to explain itself in any constructive way, the tone is offensive in its nonchalance. I asked a question that warranted an answer and an explanation. I think you should know that this post negatively affected me, even...- unhorizon

Schools Minimum GRE scores for competitive grad school
Hey everyone, I have heard over and over again that GRE scores are used by most engineering grad schools as a cut off; everyone above a certain score makes the first cut, and everyone below a certain score doesn't. I want to go to engineering grad school (specialize in biomedical). I took...- unhorizon

Best GRE Prep Book for Quantitative
The GRE quantitative section obviously is not trivial for anyone in a math related field seeing as how the average for all engineers is about 750. Thank you, though, I know never to ask a question on this forum again.- unhorizon

Best GRE Prep Book for Quantitative
Hey, Can anyone recommend me a GRE prep book that helped them prepare for the quantitative section of the GRE? It probably doesn't come as much of a surprise because of the forum we are on, but I am shooting for an 800 in quant, so I obviously don't need an extremely basic review book. I...- unhorizon
