Graduate Testable quantum geometry - recent Loop rivals?

Happy as am to see some of what I dabbled in here, I personally feel, with regard to the dynamics that Tim's approach with the effective Hamiltonian is much more pragmatic and far reaching. If you do really want to see my most recent view on how GQ could best be used to quantise SD, see my...

Graduate Testable quantum geometry - recent Loop rivals?

Let's not say it hasn't been tried! : http://arxiv.org/pdf/1302.7037.pdf and see also: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1305.1487.pdf (where he goes a bit further).

Graduate Conformal Nature of the Universe (at PI) Is nothing sacred?

Greetings Marcus, You are right in saying that one gives up the full, four dimensional diffeomorphism group in Shape Dynamics, but in order to better phrase it, one need note that Shape dynamics employs what's called "symmetry trading" in it's construction, this means that in order to attain the...

Graduate Conformal Nature of the Universe (at PI) Is nothing sacred?

If you are referring to three dimensional diffeomorphism invariance, then SD certainly doesn't get rid of that, but in addition to it, we have the additional conformal constraint.

Graduate Time Dependence in Quantum Gravity: Recent Bojowald Paper

    Nice question. We know that in Quantum gravity we find that the scalar Hamiltonian constraint on quantization leads to the Einstein-Schrödinger or Wheeler DeWitt equation \hat{H} \Psi = \left( \hat{ G_{ijkl} } \frac{\delta} { \delta \gamma_{ij} } \frac{ \delta } { \delta \gamma_{kl}...
