Trigonometric Integral Help: Solving for a<1 Using Complex Contour Method
need some assistance with the following integral: \int_0^{2\pi} cosx/(a-cosx), a-parameter (say a>0) i've converted it into a complex contour integral over z=e^(ix): ~ \int_{|z|=1} dz (z^2+1)/[z(z^2-2az+1)] which is easily evaluated for a>1. my question regards a<1 - i am not sure...- von_biber

Best Textbook for Quantum Mechanics
My 2 cents: 1. very beginning: Feynmen's lectures vol. 3 2. Cohen-Tannoudji (detailed introduction to almost everything, most importantly to linear algebra and the postulates- but very light and lacks details, especially concerning group theory. Third chapter from this book is to be...- von_biber

Graduate Landau Series: Mechanics, QM & Fields - Experiences?
These are the best books you will find. They contain wonderful physics and extremely deep insights. However, usually they are too condensed and difficult for the introduction to the subject. You can read them over and over again and they are a very good reference. Statistical physics, Quantum...- von_biber
