Physics 101: Is Phy 201 Necessary for Engineers?

I didn't take any physics in high school, but I am currently taking physics 101. My prof recommends that we take phy 201 which is algebra based physics for med students before we take phy 211 for engineers and science majors. I don't mind taking the extra class, but would you guys recommend it...

    Solving 2^1-2x=3e^x+1 - Need Help!

I apologize also I don't want anyone to think that I am a little ungrateful college kid wo just wants the answers. I tell everyone how cool you guys are on here to help us out when we need it the most. Honestly, your response actually hurt my feelings, and made me feel really stupid, so I just...

    Solving 2^1-2x=3e^x+1 - Need Help!

Okkkk Actually, I wasn't expecting the answer, I don't even want the answer, I was looking for help on the first step. Second of all, when someone tells you that your first step is wrong so they don't even bother looking at the rest, it makes you a little irritated. Lastly, I felt that my...

    Solving 2^1-2x=3e^x+1 - Need Help!

Sorry Sorry guys! Actually, the exponent is 1-2x for 2 and x+1 for e. I guess I should have been more clear. I hope this make more sense now.

    Solving 2^1-2x=3e^x+1 - Need Help!

    ... No, the problems reads exactly like that. It says to solve algebraically. The problem reads: 2^1-2x=3 e^x+1 So, I have (2/3)^1-2x=e^x+1 ln(2/3)^1-2x = ln(e^x+1) ln(2/3)(1-2x)= x+1 ln(2/3) - 2ln(2/3)x = x+1 x+1= ln(2/3)- 2 ln(2/3)x 2 ln(2/3)x + x= ln(2/3)-1 (2...

    Solving 2^1-2x=3e^x+1 - Need Help!

I'm trying to solve this equation: 2^1-2x = 3 e^x+1 Using natural logs I got x= ln(2/3) -1/ 2ln(2/3) +1 I plugged this into my solver but I'm not getting the correct answer. Anyone see where I made a mistake?

Can I Simplify This Algebraic Expression by Canceling Out the h?

I'm trying to simplify -2rh-h^2+2r/h can I simplify this anymore by canceling out the h, or is that not correct. Also, I don't believe I can factor out the h in the numerator because it's not in all 3 on top, is that correct?

Calculating Mass of Carbon 12 Atoms

What is the mass (in grams) of 6.022 x 10^6 atoms Carbon 12? I am given the equation 1 amu=1.6606 x 10^-24 g, but I'm not sure if I should be using this in my conversion factor or not. Can anyone tell me how to set this up? I have a few ideas but unfortunately I don't have any way to check my...
