Graduate A question about an infinite product
So you are telling me that a valid expression for A - B cannot be written as an infinite product (regardless whether it needs to be "involved").- WACG

Graduate A question about an infinite product
Well, I guess my question becomes - How DO you write the indicated infinite product that resolves itself to A-B? In other words, how do you write the product that has the persistent and ever smaller negative number at the tail end?- WACG

Graduate A question about an infinite product
I am puzzled by the following infinite product: Let B > A A - B = [A^(1/2) + B^(1/2)] * [A^(1/2) - B^(1/2)] = [A^(1/2) + B^(1/2)] * [A^(1/4) + B^(1/4)] * [A^(1/4) - B^(1/4)] =[A^(1/2) + B^(1/2)] * [A^(1/4) + B^(1/4)] * [A^(1/8) + B^(1/8)] * [A^(1/8) - B^(1/8)] etc...- WACG

What is the hybridization of C in R - N=C=O
Well, thanks for the response but I cannot decide whether you are simply guessing or not. Do you have any reason that supports your response? Thanks -

What is the hybridization of C in R - N=C=O
R - N=C=O is the isocyanate group. I have been trying to use a molsym program and it requires that value as input? The starting value is important. Thanks for any info. -

High School F-test explained in laymans terms
I used to teach statistics to chemists (wannabe physicists that couldn't handle the math <G>) and found that a paticular thought experiment that explored HOW the F-distribution might be generated was useful. It goes like this: Suppose you have a very large container of ball bearings. You...- WACG

Graduate Black hole merger - what would happen if
Would there be any observable difference between these two cases: A) two "ordinary" black holes merge. B) one of the two merging black holes is derived from anti-matter? Thanks for any thoughts.
