Troubleshooting a Small LAN Problem - Help Needed!
Yes your cable modem will only take one MAC address. It has one interface and expects to end on a NIC. If you unplug your old pc from the hub and reset your modem it will probably lock onto the MAC of your new computer. A router (at least a home use one) typically has a switch in it as...- xPAGANx

Troubleshooting a Small LAN Problem - Help Needed!
You are correct. He said he couldn't access his network which I was thinking are his two pcs. I was under the impression he could not access his other computer. He really didn't clearly state the problem. ICS will not work with the Internet connection running off of the hub. To use...- xPAGANx

Is it Safe to Delete Win386.SWP on My Computer?
You can set the maximum size of the swap file or simply assign a static value. I think you may run into some software incompatabilities if you delete it. 200 Megs? wow big deal. With todays massive hard drives, if that 200 meg is killing you, you need to upgrade.- xPAGANx

Setup 100baseTX LAN: Tips and Considerations
Usually the cards will negotiate the best speed when set to auto. Is it a cable you bought or made yourself? It could be a bad cable i suppose, but not likely if you bought it. You could try forcing the higher speeds by going into the properties of each card. Might work, might not.- xPAGANx

Can you prove you are not mind controlled?
Perhaps the Earth is just a petri dish and we are simply a test in an isolated environment. It makes me wonder if we are just a biological test to see if we can make it to another isolated mass and cultivate it.- xPAGANx

Can you prove inconsistency without an expectation?
That is true if you are simply looking at the big picture. Consistency/Inconsistency should be measured against something. Get a benchmark you are shooting for and measure the results from that. Consistently being inconsistent will become more inconsistent as you test. Lets look at it...- xPAGANx
