Undergrad Simple harmonic motion equations as a function of time
Thank you very much for your replies@kuruman @Gaussian97. But in this case Consider a body weighing 100 N suspended from a spring of constant k = 220 . At time t = 0, it has a downward velocity of 0.5 m.s-1 as it passes through the position of static equilibrium. So i would use x(t)=Acos(ωt+φ)... -

Undergrad Simple harmonic motion equations as a function of time
I conducted a mass-sprig experiment to see how stiffness of a spring and mass affect the frequency of oscillation. In addition to this to this i have to plot a graph to show displacement, velocity and acceleration of the mass as a function of time. From my research online For the displacement as... -
How Much Water Can a 1KW Carnot Engine Freeze in 5 Minutes?
Ah ok thank you for your reply, so i use formula Output/input = 0.8, input into motor is 1000 W therefore output = 800 W To work out energy transferred W=P x T ; W = 800 x (5minutes x 60) = 240000J plug that into m= Q/L i get 0.71 kg. Am i on the right track??- zilex191

How Much Water Can a 1KW Carnot Engine Freeze in 5 Minutes?
Homework Statement: In a well-insulated refrigeration unit, a Carnot engine using an ideal gas is driven by a 1KW electric motor (80% efficient) to freeze water. Assuming that the temperature of the thermal sink is 20 °C, calculate the mass of water frozen in 5 minutes. Take the latent heat of...- zilex191
