Mass & Energy Balance Question Help
I would appretiate help with the following 2 questions, I think I've got must of the first one right (Or went off t a tangent) but I don't now where to start on the second question 1a) Calculate the flue gas composition if 100 kmol h-1 of a gas whose composition is given below are burnt with...- zombieguy

Differentiating y= Acosαx + Bsinαx and finding Constants
y+yn=0 -α2Bsinαx - α2Acosαx + Acosαx + Bsinαx=0 Acosαx + Bsinαx=α2Bsinαx + α2Acosαx Acosαx(1 - α2)=Bsinαx(α2 - 1) so α=1? b) 0=Acosα(0) + Bsinα(0) A=0 c) 1=αBcosα(0) - αAsinα(0) B=1- zombieguy

Differentiating y= Acosαx + Bsinαx and finding Constants
Homework Statement Don't really know what to do with this one, any help welcome If A, B and α are constants, independent of x, and y= Acosαx + Bsinαx Evaluate the derivates y'=dy/dx y^n=d^2y/dx^2 Determine values of A, B and α such that y satisfies y^n+y=0 and y(0)=0, y'(0)=1...- zombieguy

Mastering Integrals: Solving Tricky Equations with x and Quotient Rule
OK, I've tried b) again but this time by using: u.v-(integral of)(v.du/dx) u=4 du/dx=0 (That gets rid of the integral part) v=-(x+2)^-1 dv/dx= (x+2)^-2 so: 4.-(x+2)^-1 It would be nice if you could show me how to do it your way (using substitution) aswel- zombieguy

Homework Statement How do I do these 2? a) x/(x^2+x-6) b) 4/(x^2+4x+4) Homework Equations The Attempt at a Solution a) Tried quotient rule it gave me -x^2 - 6/(x^2+x+6)^2, I don't think it's right b) Tried substitution (because there's another similar question between...- zombieguy
