The blue haze is DNA stained cell bodies.
The magenta is where neuron axons are.
The eye is at the end of the magenta loop to the right.
The pharyngeal arches (future gill arches) are the blobby things pointing to the right in the bottom half of the picture.

Their arms develop later from other larval parts.

Animals with short longitudinal axes are not that unusual:

Short longitudinal body axis and not apparent tail.

I used to have a strain of fish (not zebrafish, a different Danio) that had an unusually short body, but still had a fairly normal tail.
