Messing around in the basement you accidently come up with faster than light drive. You're a billion light years from home! Great, but how do you find your way back to collect your well-earned Nobel Prize? Never fear, help is here.

On second thought I wonder if this would work. At the start you might be seeing the stars near Earth as they were a billion years ago. It would be quite different so a map of a billion years in the future might not be adequate.

Not sure if the billion-years ago thing matters too much. The superclusters aren't going to change much in a billion years, and you only see stars when you're far closer than a billion LY away, so as long as your star map is good, you might make it.

Nice software. My only criticism is that you seem to treat the universe entirely in 2D. You pan and rotate left and right, but never up and down. Somehow you know that Earth is in some plane that you've already lined up.

The start of the video is tough. Laniakea supercluster does not stand out at all. It seems a homogeneous sea of dots. We presume throughout that massive light amplification is going on. I mean, I can see Andromeda from here without aid, but it's a fuzzy dot competing with fairly dim stars. No way to tell that it takes up a swath 7x larger than does the moon.
