How Do Inertia, Torque, Momentum, and Energy Apply to Automobiles?

Hey...i am really new to mechanical engineering and i am damn interested in automobiles. The problem is that i am just not able to apply the basic concepts of inertia torque momentum and energy on automobiles. Can anyone please suggest some e-books or links that would help me? Please reply asap. Desperate to start on.
