It's The Beatles!

... as in the iconic, legendary pop group of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. If you claim that you don't know who they are or have never heard of the Beatles, well, I think that is sufficient ground to have you banned from this forum!

This week, we're not asking you to submit a photo of the Beatles (most of you are not old enough to be alive during their heydays). Instead, your photo must have either items that connect directly to them (such as memorabilia), or that your photo depicts a scene that can be related to the Beatles. For example, you might submit a photo of a "Yellow Submarine", since that is also a title of one of their tunes. I'd love to see someone snaps a photo of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".

Added Requirement: Since some of these references might be obscure or unclear, please include a brief caption to explain the connection between your photo and The Beatles. This caption will be included with your photo during the voting period, so please be brief.

Good luck!

Zz.

Contest Rules:

1. Any digital photo or digitally-scanned photo relevant to the theme will be accepted within the contest period. In case there's a gray area, or you're not sure if the picture is suitable, check with me first.

2. Please resize your digital photo to no more than 800 x 600 or 600 x 800 pixels. You may also crop your picture if you wish. You are also allowed to adjust the brightness and contrast of your picture but these should not dramatically alter the look of the picture. But other than those, any form of picture editing or modification is not allowed. This is a photo contest, not a picture editing/special effect contest. You may add a watermark or your name/nickname to the photo for identification purposes.

3. Upload your photos to any of the photo servers such as imageshack or photobucket. Then post it the relevant contest thread and link your picture using the img command. PM me if you do not know how.

4. Only ONE picture per member per contest. Once a picture is posted, it cannot be changed other than a total withdrawl by that member from that week's photo contest. Exceptions will be made for modification to comply with the rules, such as resizing.

5. At the end of the contest period, I will open a poll and every PF member can vote for the picture they like best.

6. Note that in case we have a large number of entries, I will do the polling in more than one thread. If that's the case, you can vote in each of the polling threads. The photos will be assigned in the polling threads in the order they were submitted.

7. These pictures must be something that you took, not something taken off someone else's photo albums or taken by someone else. I have no way of checking if you did this, so we'll go by the honor system.

8. You can use a picture only once. Once it is used in a contest, it cannot be reused in another contest.

9. Please post only pictures meant for submission in this thread. Photos not meant for submission must not be posted in the contest thread. Posting of more than one photos by a member may result in an automatic disqualification from the week's contest.

Well, I've got two out of three, in the form of a girl who makes jewelry showing me her crystals and minerals.

Billy Fury, trailblazer for Beatles, at Liverpool Docks

2885vgy.jpg
In its favour this is in Liverpool. In the docks, once a vital opening towards the Americas exporting such valuables as manufactures, Irishmen and slaves, now almost as bustling as heritage centre as it once was at commerce, with its Maritime Museum, International Slavery Museum, a branch of the Tate and much else - perhaps I should not forget to mention The Beatles Story Museum.

This is Billy Fury, who rose to fame only just before the Beatles with whom he had various interactions, and whom he more often than not outsold.

I don't know if anyone here has heard of Elvis Presley, but if they have, some resemblances in such things as hairstyles and public persona may suggest themselves..

With only a little luck there will be an afficionado expert on pop music of 1950's-1980's along who will explain why it all happened in Liverpool and who was what and how good. With a bit more luck we will have two afficionado experts along and we can watch the fight.

More about Billy Fury here http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billy_Fury and many other places.
